Meet Margery, Jane, and Friends of Chevin Forest Park, at 9.50am. at Otley bus station. X84 departs 10am. Hear about the Chevin’s fascinating history and take part in Chevin Forest’s Open Day events, exhibition and refreshments. 

History, good walking, great views.

Meet Ray Moss at Otley bus station for 33A bus departing at   9.50am. Walk departs 10.30 at the Sailing Centre car park, Yeadon Tarn, High St., Leeds, LS19 7TA. Includes the Friends of Chevin Forest’s Open Day as for Walk 1. Walk ends Otley town centre.

History, tarn, forest, good walking.

THE ROAD TO MARSTON MOOR

Meet Bob Brook and Andy FitzGerald of Otley Pub Club at Otley bus station. Bus to Menston train station departs 10.05am. Walk departs Menston train station at 10.30am.  Only one steep climb! Lunchtime stop at the Royalty. Finish at Otley Parish church. Then try to emulate Cromwell’s troops drinking the Black Bull dry!

Walk where Cromwell’s troops camped. Learn of the build up to a pivotal battle in the Civil War. History on the move!

STEPPING OUT OF LINE

Sound Company Men’s Choir bring their latest script-in-hand production to Otley Walking Festival. And it’s all about walking and song as part of protest – The Kinder Scout Mass Trespass, The Jarrow Crusade, and more! Performance starts 7.30pm at Otley Aged Person’s Centre, (opposite the Old Cock pub), Crossgate, Otley, LS21 1AA.  Doors open 7.15pm. Tickets £3 on the door. 

An evening of history, drama, and spoken word - protest, songs, and walking. Not to be missed!
