Otley Walking Festival
June 22nd to June 30th 2019
MINDFULNESS WALK ON THE CHEVIN
Meet Sally and Cathy, Wharfedale Mindfulness, for a walk on the Chevin engaging in mindfulness practice. Departs 6pm. Booking opens May 1st www.otleywalkingfestival.co.uk
This walk is suitable for those who are new to mindfulness as well as those who are experienced. The walk will be guided by experienced mindfulness teachers. The pace will be slow to take in our experience as it unfolds moment by moment.
Mindfulness is the awareness that arises through paying attention, on purpose, in the present moment, non-judgementally - Jon Kabat-Zinn
In this walk we will bring our attention to our experience of walking moment by moment and to the environment around us. This will include being aware of ourselves moving, using the senses to take in our surroundings as we walk on the Chevin.
Unfortunately, this walk is not suitable for people who use wheelchairs or for people with mobility problems. The walk will be in silence apart from the guidance given by Sally and Cathy. Children are welcome so long as they could respect the requirement for silence. The walk is not suitable for dogs.
Sally and Cathy are experienced mindfulness teachers who trained with the University of Bangor. They teach courses in Otley, see: www.wharfedalemindfulness.com
