Brief Route Outline: Complimentary coffee/biscuit and 10-minute introduction to the Washburn Heritage Centre (WHC). Walk from WHC by minor roads, crossing the A59, through fields to Hardisty Hill, short road section to view High Apprentice House then fields to river Washburn. Return via former mill site to A59 and back to WHC by side of Fewston reservoir. Walk includes storytelling and participatory elements where the walkers are the Children of the Mill which adds to the time.

To walk to Washburn Heritage Centre from Swinsty Stack Point car park HG3 1SU. Leave the car park heading towards the reservoir.  Turn right and follow the path, keeping the reservoir on your left. Turn right at the Washburn Heritage Centre sign (see below) and walk up to the Centre. The walk will take 10 to 15 minutes.
